Details: Originally designed in 1948, this example produced by GUBI for Design Within Reach circa 2010. Powder coated in Putty color.  In good condition, shows some scuffs, wear consistent with age. Recommended bulb: Incandescent 40W/E12 or comparable CFL. Original and authentic Grossman lamp produced to the designers original specifications. Authentic, not a knock-off.

Notes from the Archive: Swedish architect and designer, Greta Magnusson-Grossman immigrated to Los Angeles with her husband in the 40's and opened a store on Rodeo Drive featuring her European Modern aesthetic. Swiftly accepted by movie star icons like Greata Garbo, Joan Fontaine and others, she went on to found her own architecture office.  The Grasshopper Floor Lamp takes its name from the dramatic slant of the base to the conical shape of the lamp as if imitating the movement of an insect.  Simple and expressive.
