Notes from the Archive: Massimo Morozzi designed the pasta set in 1982, as part of his interest in concentrating on Mediterranean cooking objects for "making pasta". Alberto Alessi's interest in working with Morozzi was both due to his experience with Archizoom and radical design along with his goal of manufacturing the perfect cooking objects. Although it was not a completely new idea to have the colander inside the pot, (there are traces of it in a 16th Century text by Scappi), there was not a version available for private use. This design won a Gold Medal in 1986 and was immensely popular and still continues to influence the market.
