Details: From the 1986 Memphis/Milano Collection, this chair represents one of Marco Zanini's most important designs for Memphis. This example has a deep green metal flake finish on the fiberglass. In very good condition in the original crate from early production.

Notes from the Archive: The Roma chair utilized molded fiberglass-a material not typically associated with furniture, and pushed the boundaries of plastic materials for use in the living room. The metalflake finish is a direct reference to flashy American hot-rod finishes, while the form is certainly a metaphor for the chair's historical relationship to a throne. Long out of production, it is extremely unusual to find one of these chairs in good condition, especially as many were used outdoors. A coup for any collector!
