Notes from the Archive: The "futuristic" Cone Chair was the first in a series of designs by Verner Panton using a cone shaped base, followed by additional chairs (most notably the Heart Shaped Cone Chair and the Wire Cone chair), stools and tables. Panton's choice of color for his upholstered and plastic furnishings defined the predominate color schemes used during the late fifties and into the seventies.
