Notes from the Archive: Nathalie Du Pasquier is best known as one of the founding members of Memphis and the designer of many of the amazing textile designs. George Sowden and Nathalie Du Pasquier collaborated on numerous drawings of interiors, towns and cities expanding the view of Memphis design. Here Du Pasquier offers two designs for refuse containers, one with a flag so as to be highly visible and the other in a bright blue color. To the Memphis designers even the lowliest functions deserved good design. Both offer a ceremonial and totemic alternative to standard city trash bins.
