Notes from the Archive: The Grandmother pattern was inspired by a tablecloth design Venturi saw at the home of a colleague's grandmother. This pattern was used for a complete line of dinnerware. In the Swid Powell book by Annette Tapert, he is quoted as saying, "In both "Grandmother" and "Notebook", I wanted a universal and, at the same time, American motif - which is another way of saying I wanted to do something that was ordinary-pretty. Once again, I'm making it representational. Grandmother was a material source and Notebook a paper source. By putting these motifs on a hard edge, they become less strict and not overly sentimental."
Shipping Notes: Free shipping included in the continental US. Please contact us for international shipping arrangements.
