Notes from the Archive: An iconic steel wire design from the 60's. Originally designed in 1966 by Warren Platner as part of a now-famous collection including tables, chairs, and this stool. The process of welding steel rods to circular frames creates a moire pattern in the hourglass shape of this stool. Platner was awarded the Rome Prize for Architecture in 1955 and is best known for his designs for the Windows on the World Restaurant in the World Trade Center.
