Title: Mobile Bar (Prototype)
Medium: Maple, oak, walnut, purpleheart, cherry, alder, soapstone, stainless steel and urethane.
Dimensions: 40"h x 38" (58" with extensions) x 23"
Details: The Mobile Bar is meant to be flexible and multi-functional with compact storage and wood surfaces that retract. Various woods are aesthetically combined for the bar top, with ends that may be extended for a larger service area. An inlaid disk of gray and white soapstone is for fondue or hot dishes. A cutting board pullout, two sizable drawers and additional storage space included. Custom HD-J Roll casters in stainless steel with dual urethane wheels are ideal for rolling on many surfaces and offer a higher weight capacity than standard casters.
Notes from the Archive: Jeffrey Jenkins' early design influence in the development of The Mobile Bar was Joe Columbo's famous Minikitchen Product Design (1963) for Boffi. He wanted to design a product with a similar spirit but with a tougher, heavy duty aesthetic. The Mobile Bar is designed to be a focal point and a gathering place for food, drink and conversation. Perfect for smaller urban spaces!
