Notes from the Archive: From the inaugural Memphis collection from 1981, this charming lamp immediately became the most popular design of all the Memphis lamps. In a room, peeking out near a chair or sofa, it prompts smiles. From an unexpected source, the floor, it emits a wonderful halo of soft light.  Designed by Martine Bedin, a founding members of Memphis, who also designed additional lamps, ceramics, and furniture for the collection through 1988.
