Notes from the Archive: Charles Gwathmey and Robert Siegel were part of the original group of nine architects, Nan Swid and Addie Powell invited to design a line of functional but beautiful tabletop accessories for their new company, Swid Powell in November 1982. Gwathmey Siegel also designed Tuxedo, which became the best selling dinnerware line for Swid Powell including a full range of serving pieces. The Courtney Bud Vase and a corresponding Courtney Candlestick, were their first designs in silver as companion pieces to their dinnerware collection.
