Details: Rare catalog in good condition with some shelf wear on covers. Initial section of the catalogue is printed on a fine linen paper including Peter T. Joseph's foreword and Wendell Castle's essay, Out of the Corner of My Eye, followed by a section of glossy photographs of Castle and his studio on matte ivory paper. Then the additional essays are printed on linen paper with the main section of glossy color plates printed on the matte ivory paper. Color photography enriched with black and white details by Michael Galatis. Final section with biography, bibliography and collections conclude on the linen paper. Cover and back with matte linen cover stock.

Notes from the archive: Spectacular catalog produced for the opening exhibition of the Peter Joseph Gallery in February 1991 coinciding with the exhibition of "The Furniture of Wendell Castle" at the American Craft Museum. The essay, "Furniture, Philosophy, Craft, and Art: The Masterwork of Wendell Castle" is by Arthur Danto, the Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University and the art critic for The Nation offering some of the first critical writing for Castle's work within the context of the history of art and philosophy.
