Notes from the Archive: In this poster design, Radl defines a Memphis interior with the iconic Casablanca bookcase designed by Ettore Sottsass, the Palace chair by George Sowden and the First chair by Michele DeLucchi. The walls are covered with different laminate patterns designed by both Radl and Sottsass for Abet Laminati. One of Memphis' most important innovations, perhaps their greatest contribution, was the use of patterned laminates in furniture design. At the end of the 70's and the beginning of the 80's, Abet Laminati was an important partner for both the Studio Alchymia and the Memphis design group collaborating on both the design for laminate patterns and new uses for the material.
