Details: Chair design from 1963-65. This 1:6 scale miniature is an early production model (1993) in excellent condition from the Vitra Design Museum and includes original wooden crate. The upholstered back cushion is removable, as in the original design. The chair swivels 360 degrees on its base, increasing the sitter's view.  This chair currently in production in both full size by Adelta and 1:6 scale miniature by the Vitra Design Museum. Also referred to as the Globe chair.
Notes from the Archive: An iconic design made even more famous from its use in numerous film sets including "Men in Black II", "Mars Attacks", "Dazed and Confused", "Tommy" and "The Prisoner" television series. This design creates a "room within a room"; architectural, yet still furniture.  Designed to create privacy to make a phone call, listen to music or simply relax.
